"What an amazing find."

What an amazing find.  Surely God directed our steps to our new favorite camping-in-comfort getaway.  Over and above all other camping experiences.  Here we find ourselves camping in comfort with amazing detail to everything we could need or want.  Total relaxation!  Solitude in the woods with all the creatures...watching mama deer at night with her three babies, as we made amazing meals over the open fire...rowing and pedaling up and down the "almost river"...feeding Tom the cat and the ducks Pedro and Priscilla...coffee on the swing...breakfast on the deck..and topping it all off was meeting, walking, and talking with you both.  You are such wonderful people, Darci and Steve--so humble and giving.  Being aware now of the Worldwalker adventure tops it all off!  We'll be studying up on the rich history of Ripley, so we can do more exploring during our next, longer, stay next year.  Thank you!!

"Steve, you're like a modern-day Henry David Thoreau."

Despite the storms, everything was magnificent.  We enjoyed our stay in Eagle Creek Cabin.  Steve, you're like a modern-day Henry David Thoreau.  Darci was a most wonderful host.  The muffins were delicious.  Penny loved her stay as well.  She ran to and fro, took a dip in the creek, and relaxed on the porch.  A wonderful time was had by all.

"The cabin was stocked with everything you need for a peaceful getaway."

The weather didn't cooperate with us.  We had bad storms and flooding.  Still, the cabin was very nice and peaceful.  We loved sitting on the porch swing and watching the wildlife.  I really liked feeding the birds and ducks.  The cabin was fully stocked with everything you need for a peaceful getaway.  Steve and Darci were very nice people and gave us some good recommendations for the local restaurants.  We had a nice relaxing time.

"What a great week!"

What a great week!  The rain was definitely not in our idea of a perfect week, but it was exactly what we needed.  The weather forced us to slow down and enjoy a week at a leisurely pace.  We spent time reading, watching movies, talking, and spending time on the porch with a good cup of coffee.  Very refreshing!  We did squeeze in some catfishing, kayaking, and hiking.  I went for a run each morning in Ripley.  Steve and Darci were extremely thoughtful and gracious hosts.  We can't wait to come back!

"Very relaxing and a great way to re-connect as a couple."

We made good on our "threat" and came back...this time with the children!  And weren't they overjoyed and thrilled as much as we were for another adventurous river cabin stay.  Between the five of us, we took advantage of just about everything this retreat has to offer: canoeing, paddle boating, swimming, campfire grilling, movie watching, corn hole and badminton games, sightseeing, fishing (well, at least a good attempt at it!), and, above all, RELAXING and ENJOYING the splendid surroundings our Creator gave us!  The Lord has refreshed and inspired us during our stay.  Thank you, Steve and Darci, for the wonderful accommodations and your hand of friendship--the latter being more appreciated than the former.

We want to thank you so much for such an amazing place to spend quality time together was a family.  You two absolutely know what you're doing.  You've thought of everything!  We had such a great time we even left King's Island after being there only two hours to come back here.  We really enjoyed all the little touches you two put into this beautiful cabin.  We loved sitting on the porch and watching all the wild birds.  We also loved the fresh-cut flowers for the outdoor table.  Everything you guys did was very helpful, especially the restaurant suggestions: we went to Pasquale's, and the pizza and Italian food was delicious--so much so we went twice.  Thank you so much!!!

"This is a magical place."

Thank you for creating such an amazing place to get away from it all and truly relax.  My husband and I had not had a vacation in seven years, and we made it our mission to get away this summer.  I searched high and low, from upstate NY to upstate WI for an affordable retreat.  Luck had it that I found your place.  Darci, you promised that we would find relaxation, and boy did you deliver.  Never would I have imagined that just sitting and watching wild birds indulge a bird feeder would be such joy.  We barely left the cabin area because we felt such peace just being here.  We loved swimming in the creek and lounging on the dock.  We felt privileged to have been able to spend a week here and are left feeling relaxed, at peace, and re-evaluating our lives.  This is a magical place.

This is an amazing place and exactly what I needed.

My amazing closest girlfriends planned this weekend away for us for my 40th birthday.  I was just happy to hang out with them for a few days away from "normal life," but I got so much more.  This was an amazing place and exactly what I needed.  The cabin is perfect, the weather was amazing, and we made wonderful new friends along the way.  Thank you Steve and Darci for a great quiet heaven-like place to get away.

"We have found our spot!"

I had one large fish that got away. He was a monster, and losing the photo opportunity will haunt me for years. We had a wonderful time at your cabin!! It was quiet, clean, peaceful and comfortable. The entire property was well kept (beautiful) and had every amenity one could want. We did not feel like we were renting out a cash cow, but rather visiting a family member's guest home. Steve was very thorough in taking the time to show us around, and we greatly appreciate your hospitality.  Also, thanks again for offering our girls the opportunity to cast their lines in the pond. They highly enjoyed reeling in some bluegill and crappie. If you guys have any cancellations throughout the summer, please let us know. We would love to visit again this year!! We sure wish we could have stayed longer!  What an incredibly relaxing vacation this was.  We loved the fact that our cell phones did not work out here.  It allowed us to completely relax, enjoying ourselves and our girls and the wildlife.  The first night at dinner we were greeted by 19 deer, 2 muskrats, 3 geese, and millions of little birdies.  We have found our spot!

"Worldwalker Hill and Brown County are beautiful!"

What a delightful night I had in this little cabin!  At first sight, one sees warmth and coziness and comfy chairs, but then after a few minutes of quiet and stillness, it becomes so easy to let one's mind wander and reflect upon good memories and a good life.  So when I came through the cabin's door, I also discovered it is a secret door that takes you to the mountains of Nepal or to the top of a 14th in Colorado or to the top of of the Grand Tetons in Wyoming.  I was also remembered adventures shared with my Nepali friends.  I'll return again when I can.  Worldwalker Hill and Brown County are beautiful!

We enjoyed our stay at your beautiful cabin.  It was just what we needed with our busy schedules.  Thank you for the goody basket.  The weather during our stay was rainy but our cabin had games, movies, etc.  My husband and I had a lot of fun playing Battleship, which I haven't played since I was a little girl.  The paddle boat getting loose during the storm, called Darci, and Steve came and jumped into Eagle Creek and retrieved the paddle boat.  Just another thing we will always remember.  You put great thought in this place and it shows.  We'll be back and hope to bring our two girls who will love this place.   Thank you for everything.

We were desiring a close-to-home destination to unwind and relax -- and this hideaway on Eagle Creek has fit the bill, and then some.  We were so comfortable here!  It's going to be hard to leave the peace and quiet to head back to the hustle and bustle of the city, but we have the hope of returning again  -- and next time bringing our children along!!  Thank you for all the "extras," especially the snack basket. Also enjoyed immensely the pedal boat trip up river.  Steve and Darci are the consummate hosts.  We are thankful for our time here, albeit far too short a stay.

"The location is perfect, so relaxing."

Darci and Steve thought of everything for our stay.  The cabin is superb, spacious, clean like a home away from home.  The location is perfect, so relaxing.  We'll definitely be back.  See you soon!!  P.S. If anyone finds our fishing pole on the bottom of the creek--that's how big the catfish are!!!

"Wonderful place for our pre-honeymoon."

Wonderful place for our pre-honeymoon.  We fished, grilled pizza, relaxed, let the dog swim...  This is such a beautiful cabin, full of nature surrounding us.  Darci and Steven have spoiled us with gifts and a wonderful stay.  Thank you so much!

"...absolutely loved our stay here"

We absolutely loved our stay here and had a great time paddling up and down the creek.  We made s'mores and told ghost stories.  We feel completely relaxed and recharged.  We hope to visit again soon in the fall to see the beautiful foilage."

"...best inn keepers we've ever met!"

Patrick and I have stayed at a handful of cabins and inns and you two have been the best inn keepers we've ever met! You can tell you both genuinely care about your guest's enjoyment! We loved our stay so much we only left the property for about an hour! We plan to come back and maybe explore the area more ( if we don't get entwined with the peacefulness of the cabin again! ). Your place was perfect for us and we appreciated the small extra touches, like the shampoo and toiletries, goodie basket, tea upon arrival and the super soft towels! We have already been telling our families all about it, so we may have to share the cabin with them :) Thanks so much and we really enjoyed meeting you both! We will be back soon!Patrick asked when the next good fishing run is down there.  Maybe we can schedule a couple days then!  Any suggestions?

"...this cabin fit the bill"

What a wonderful place to rest, relax and recharge!  We needed a few days of R&R -- this cabin fit the bill.  Not too far away from home, but far enough to enjoy the river, the sights, and just to unwind.  We will be back, and hopefully some of our friends as well.

"...it can't get any better"

Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had at the cabin.  It certainly is a good place for a girls' getaway trip.  The three of us had everything of convenience, yet the serenity of the country.  You and Steve have fixed things up so nice and comfortable that you think, " it can't get any better."  I particularly enjoyed sitting on the porch (either porch) looking at the creek, seeing wildlife, and listening to the birds.  What a great place to relax and read.  Again, thanks.

"...above and beyond your expectations"

My husband and I stayed at Eagle Creek Country Cabin and had a very relaxing, enjoyable time. Darci is a very friendly host who will go above and beyond your expectations to make sure you are enjoying your stay. I have known Darci for over 15 years and can't say enough about how pleasant and personable she is along with her husband Steven Newman, "The Worldwalker."   The cabin is very clean and has a peaceful setting.  We were able to enjoy fishing, boating, and much relaxing away from the busyness of our lives.  We are looking forward to returning to this relaxing getaway!
